Last night I went back to Moravian for an alumni-student networking event, and as you could predict, I had a great time. I always enjoy going back to my alma mater, but when you get the opportunity to interact with other alums and students like that, it's even more rewarding.
I got to take part in a political science alumni panel, which was very interesting given that I was the only person who was full time on electoral campaigns. There was everyone from community organizers to city and federal administrators, to hospital government relations and LANTA analysts on the panel with me, and I can honestly say they were all really, really interesting. They were also really successful people, which is nice to see at your own school. Just as important though was the quality of students and their questions, which was solid. I have to admit it was a little different to be on the alumni side of one of these events, but I'm really glad I did.
I got the chance to converse with students and more recent alums than I, and I can say with confidence that Moravian is just as great of a place as when I was there. They're bright kids, and they really want to get out and do great things in the world. I'm happy I got the chance to meet them, and hopefully I can help some of them.
