As the month of June came, so did several endings. It was the end of my time in Iowa, as the primary in IA-1 didn't go the way we wanted it to go. It was the end of this generation of Wilkins' kids in Easton Area High School, as my cousin Bradley graduated. I was back on the east coast, and back out in New York, and on the beach. I began what was one of the most enjoyable Summers I've had.
As for the events of June:
- The LA Kings won Lord Stanley's Cup, dismantling the New York Rangers.
- Tim Duncan put LeBron's Heat to bed, as the Spurs won their fifth title under Coach Pop and Duncan. In fact, it was a blowout.
- Jay Carney left as White House Press Secretary.
- Mitt Romney went back to Iowa for Joni Ernst.
- The White House negotiated the prisoner exchange that controversially brought home Sgt. Bergdahl, continuing the trend of controversial, yet successful Obama foreign policy in 2014.
- Northampton County Judge Edward Smith was confirmed to the federal bench.
- House Majority Leader Eric Cantor got beat in the primary.
- Matt Munsey was elected Northampton County Democratic Party chair.
- President Obama settled the IBEW Local 98- SEPTA regional rail strike.
- Jimmy Rollins became the Phillies all-time leader in hits.
- Walt Felton was elected the Lehigh County Democratic Party Chair.
- Jim Burn was controversially re-elected as the Pennsylvania Democratic Party's chairman at my first state committee meeting as a member. I got the cool certificate above too.
- LeBron James opted out of his Miami Heat contract and left to go home.
- The Sixers drafted Joel Embiid and Dario Saric with their two first round picks in the NBA Draft.
- The World Cup came to Brazil. American Right-Wingers hated it (Ann Coulter specifically), but it was pretty awesome.
- The Supreme Court, which enjoys "buffer zone" protection from protest to assure their safety, took that away from abortion clinics.
- Former Virginia Democratic State Senator Phillip Puckett sold out his commonwealth's working poor by resigning for a position from the Republican State Senators, handing them his seat and killing Medicaid Expansion.
- The Supreme Court struck down the ACA's contraception mandate in the "Hobby Lobby Case."
