April turned to May, and May is a big month for me. Why? Well, for one, it's my birthday. In this year, it also marked my cousins' graduations from Millersville and East Stroudsburg University. It's a month where I was on the ballot for state committeeman from Northampton County on the Democratic State Committee of Pennsylvania. I was also busy in the great state of Iowa doing some work on a Congressional Primary too, which had me very busy. Baseball season was in full swing, as was the Flyers short playoff season. Lots happened in May. Like what, you ask?
- The Flyers lost their first round playoff series in seven games to the Rangers.
- Senate Republicans blocked an increase of the minimum wage, while the House version started a new committee to investigate the false-scandal of Benghazi.
- Condi Rice was forced to pull out on her speaking engagement for Rutgers graduation over protests.
- Crazy State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe introduced articles of impeachment for PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
- My cousins graduated college as I said above. Evan is the second of the Wilkins grand-kids to do so, while Kaitlyn is also second after me to do so on the Treible side.
- Michael Sam became the first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL.
- Beyonce's lunatic sister attacked Jay Z in an elevator.
- Ras Baraka was elected as Newark's Mayor in a surprise victory on a night that was good to anti-machine candidates.
- The New York Times ran out Executive Editor Jill Abramson amidst possibly under-paying her for years, compared to her male colleagues.
- Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in India.
- I got elected to the Democratic State Committee of Pennsylvania with around 6,000 votes.
- Tom Wolf and Mike Stack were nominated for Governor and Lt. Governor by Democrats in Pennsylvania.
- Marriage Equality came to Pennsylvania.
- The Sixers got the third pick in the NBA Draft Lottery.
- Ben Revere finally hit his first MLB homer, just shy of the record books.
- Maya Angelou died.
- Dr. Dre sold "Beats by Dre" to Apple and basically doubled his net-worth.
- General and VA Secretary of over five years Eric Shinseki took the fall on the VA health scandal, and resigned.
