From Bob Werner's announcement that I missed for my mom's birthday. |
- I've been friends with the Werner family for over half my life, so it pains me that I forgot that his announcement was tonight, and conflicted with my mom's birthday. County Councilman Bob Werner announced he will seek a second term representing the greater Easton area on County Council. Werner fought hard to save Braden Airpark, is heavily involved in the efforts to make Gracedale fiscally and serviceably healthy, and has fought John Brown's waste of county taxpayer dollars on pointless contracts. We need another term of him.
- My fellow Moravian (although he's from the later class of '07) Shawn Martell is running for Bethlehem City Council and will announce on January 20th at the Jefferson Democratic Club's Meeting Room at 6 pm. Shawn's a good guy who grew up in Bethlehem and has always called it home, from pre-school through Moravian, to today. Aside from being a good football player, he's a smart young guy who can help the city get through it's divisions and progress forward.
- On Thursday, February 19th, another good friend and fellow Moravian, Willie Reynolds will announce his plans to seek a third term on council. He was a hair away from winning the mayoral primary in 2013, and is now serving as the President of Council in Bethlehem. Despite all kinds of warnings of bitter division and stonewalling from council towards the new Mayor, Willie has lead responsibly. He put forth a lot of great plans in his mayoral run, and the city benefits from his big ideas and willingness to act.
- Although he hasn't thrown a party (or scheduled one yet), Bethlehem Councilman Mike Recchiuti has announced on his Facebook page that he is going to seek another term. We'll have more on this when he says a little more.
- County Councilman Ken Kraft announced on Facebook his run for a second term.
