Now that we know the college football bowl schedule, we're able to take a look at some of the highlights. Here they are, according to me:
- The first bowl game is on December 20th at 11 am. It will pit Nevada against Louisiana-Lafayette in New Orleans at the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
- Navy plays San Diego State at the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on the 23rd at 9:30 pm.
- Rutgers matches up with North Carolina in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit on the 26th at 4:30.
- Penn State returns to the bowl world on the 27th in New York City at the Pinstripe Bowl. They play Boston College, an ironic opponent at Yankees Stadium, at 4:30 pm.
- Nebraska and USC will play that night at 8 pm at the National University Holiday Bowl.
- Notre Dame disappointed me this season, but they don't get a break in the bowl game. They go to the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville on the 30th for a 3 pm game with LSU.
- TCU plays #9 Ole Miss on the 31st in the Peach Bowl.
- Boise State plays Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl, also on the 31st.
- Mississippi State and Georgia Tech play in the Orange Bowl, also on the 31st.
- Baylor plays Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl Classic on January 1st.
- On January 2nd, Pitt plays Houston in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
