Anyone who has watched Kobe Bryant play basketball all these years understands that he's one of the greatest players of all-time. It's not just his incredible stats, or his five rings, or anything in particular. He's just the guy you want shooting at the end of a game.

This weekend, the Lower Merion product passed Michael Jordan for third all-time in points. Yes, the Michael Jordan. Without igniting debate over what that means, or who's the best ever, or anything like that, I'll just say wow. He trails only Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time list. To think he grew up just about an hour away, and literally just a mile or two from where Wilt Chamberlain grew up.

Congrats to Kobe.
