No Sense Destroying the Planet for Keystone

NASA tweeted this on New Year's.

Some time in the coming hours and days, both houses of Congress will vote to tell the President and his Administration to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline through the heart of America. Now, I'll tell you now that I think he eventually signs that into law in 2015, using it as leverage in another negotiation. With that said, I say he shouldn't.

The picture above is our beautiful planet, from space. It's amazing. We're destroying it, and for no reason. I filled up my gas tank in New Jersey yesterday for $2.06 a gallon, spending just over $20. Gas is cheap right now, Keystone was never going to make it cheaper. Even if it did, gasoline is a fuel on it's way out, to be priced out within our's or our children's lifetime by supply and demand. We shouldn't put another dime into a dying, dirty, unsustainable energy source. I realize we can't go cold-turkey off of it, but it's time to change our habits, and change how we spend on energy. Keystone doesn't help us.
